Clean, simple neutrals are always in – they provide a backdrop for feature design elements, allowing art or statement furniture to pop, and they also provide a calming serenity when vivid brights or patterns won’t do. Some neutral tones can be stark, and while there’s certainly a time and place for black and white, at times a more subtle approach is the way to go. Alabaster, a creamy, smooth hue that is essentially white’s less ostentatious cousin, is clean without being harsh.
Pantone’s 2017 Color of the Year is Greenery, a bright, vibrant hue that inspires a feeling of renewal and reinvention in home design.
As NASA embarks on ever more fantastic discoveries into outer space – from Mars and Jupiter, to the moon and back – wallpaper and textile designers are creating stellar celestial interpretations in heavenly blues, right here at home. Bringing the brilliance of outer space to our inner spaces is one giant step for mankind’s manses.
